I had the pleasure of spending
last week at the Rockefeller Foundation's Center in Bellagio, Italy
where I joined a wonderful group of development experts, business
people, philanthropists and academics to work towards catalyzing
management development in Africa.
The Rockefeller Foundations makes
their beautiful villa and estate available for conferences and small
meetings to promote
innovation and identify impact-oriented solutions to critical global
problems and we were lucky enough to have been selected as a recipient
of their generosity.(Check out the view from the conference room!)
Throughout the week, I was energized and enthused
at the commitment and creativity of the group in thinking about how we
can work towards one million effective managers in Africa. I was
particularly pleased that one of GBSN's board members, Carol Realini,
joined the group and brought her expertise and experience in technology
and mobile solutions to the challenge at hand. Carol wrote
a fantastic blog on the week and I urge you to check it out.
