On my last day at GBSN, I have a hard time believing it's only been eight years. From my initial six-week contract at the IFC all the way to celebrating our 10th anniversary on the beaches of Tunis, it's been a long and wonderful ride. Right from the start, GBSN provided exciting opportunities and opened new doors for me. Not long after joining the group, I was sent on my very first field mission, which should have tipped me off as to what life at GBSN was going to be like. During that first trip I visited eight business schools in six countries in less than two weeks. Not only did I learn a great deal about business education in Asia, I learned pretty quickly the importance of carry-on luggage, the value of a passport with extra pages, and the immeasurable joy of a business class upgrade.
Over the course of my work here at GBSN I continued to travel and have been fortunate to visit business schools and partners in 29 different countries. I've worked on over 20 capacity building programs that have directly benefitted more than 50 institutions. I've been part of the organization's transition from a small unit in a large multilateral institution to an independent non-profit with growing brand recognition across the globe. From the initial eight members to today's network of 60 business schools, I'm proud and grateful to have played a small part in the success of GBSN and the organization's impact on development.
As I look back at the experience GBSN has provided me, nothing is more valuable then the people with whom I've had the chance to work. From my colleagues here in DC, to our member ambassadors, partners, and supporters around the world, my GBSN family has been such a tremendous source of inspiration and wisdom, not to mention a constant supply of good laughs and warm smiles. As I move on to my next adventure in life, I am blessed to move forward with such a supportive family behind me.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make my time at GBSN a wonderful, meaningful experience. I am grateful to you all and will bring with me the many wonderful memories GBSN has given me as I enter the next chapter in my career.
