Because of a GBSN introduction, students from two GBSN member schools, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and IESE, were invited to speak about their MBA experiences, at a local MBA info session in Abidjan. The GBSN contact, Leonce Ano, who invited the students to speak is a Lecturer in Technology and Operations Management at MDE Business School in Cote d'Ivoire. On December 17, an information session on admission process to top MBA programs took place in Abidjan. Speakers from Tuck School of Business and IESE Business School share their experience on their MBA journey.There were 28 attendants coming from different background such as engineering, finance or consulting.
Different questions such as tips for GMAT preparation, how to write a good essay and why should one apply to one School or another have been answered.
Also, some documents of the GMAC have been shared about the Global Demand of top MBA Schools for African students.
In addition a brochure edited in French have been distributed to help answering some basic questions about Admission to top School.
Finally, 224 US dollars have been raised for a social project that is taking place with children living in a slum near Cocody, Abidjan.
Overall, attendants got to realize they have several peers who are also in the process and that could could find ways to help each other.
