GBSN Welcomes Three New Schools Into the Network

Nicole ZefranGBSN is proud to add Ivey Business School, the Institut Supérieur de Management of Dakar (ISM) and the Institut African de Management (IAM) to our growing list of member schools. These schools join a network of over 60 world-class business schools that spans 28 countries on 6 continents. GBSN works with our member schools to build management education capacity for the developing world through cross-border networking, knowledge sharing and capacity building programs to strengthen local business education. As members, Ivey, ISM and IAM, will have the opportunity to participate in GBSN’s robust network, share knowledge and perspectives with peers around the world, and engage in capacity building programs.

The Ivey Business School and ISM join the network at the Executive Board level committing to the highest level of engagement in GBSN’s mission.

Richard Ivey School of BusinessIvey Business School is committed to both an international perspective and global experience. The school’s mission is to develop business leaders who think globally, act strategically, and contribute to the societies within which they operate. Ivey’s case based learning exposes students to real-world international business issues daily and many of its courses focus on international business. They join with eagerness to engage the network through capacity building, faculty exchange, and joint research.

Ivey offers students a chance to participate in the LEADER program, which is a student driven overseas economic development program. It was founded with the directive of empowering talented entrepreneurs in frontier markets to envision, launch, and/or scale new ventures. Through this approach, LEADER aims to enable high potential individuals to develop local business solutions that create opportunities for their local communities. LEADER has grown to a network of over 500 instructor alumni, all graduates of Ivey.

ISM DakarThe Institute Supérieur de Management of Dakar (ISM) works to not only to train a new generation of African leaders and managers, but also to strengthen its commitment and citizen activism for the promotion of quality higher education accessible to all. Founded in 1992, ISM’s goal is to train 20,000 leaders by year 2020.

To date, ISM has trained nearly 12,000 leaders and managers,from over 30 countries around the world and also active in allregions of the world and in all sectors of economic life. ISM joins the network with eagerness to learn and benchmark from other members schools.

IAM DakarThe Institut African de Management (IAM) is driven by improving management education in the world through networking, bridging and the exchange of best practices with due respect to cultures and values, as well as enhancing inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship. They join eager to participate in training activities and capacity building programs, sharing efforts developed by IAM’s case center of excellence development. IAM also looks forward to developing student exchanges with GBSN member schools.

IAM is involved with local leading corporate companies and is implementing policy, backed by CSR activities in link with digital innovation, sustainable development and poverty alleviation.

GBSN is excited to add Ivey Business School, the Institut Supérieur de Management of Dakar (ISM) and the Institut African de Management (IAM) to ournetwork. With the acceptance of two schools in Senegal, our network is now present in 28 countries around the world.
