Centre for Impact Investing (GCII) announced a grant award of $100,000.00 from The Rockefeller Foundation
and the Tony Elumelu Foundation
to support impact investing in Ghana.
The grant has been endowed from the Africa Impact Economy Innovations Fund (IEIF) which was launched in April 2013 at the Africa Impact Investing Forum supported by the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Tony Elumelu Foundation. IEIF provides grant capital for entrepreneurs with projects that create jobs in underserved sectors, and supports proposals geared toward enabling capital solutions, fostering entrepreneurial ecosystems and promoting impact investing industry infrastructure.
Additionally, the Venture Capital Trust Fund
(VCTF) approved an amount of GHC 200,000 to support the operations of the centre. The Centre for Impact Investing was formed as a partnership initiative between the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and VCTF.
The centre, by the end of the year, will develop a comprehensive impact measurement matrix to measure impact investments in Ghana.
