Along with the global community we are concerned about the impact that the Ebola virus is having in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria. As of August 6, 2014 the World Health Organization reports that there have been no cases of Ebola in Ghana, our conference venue. Ghana has suspended air travel from countries where there have been infections in an effort to limit the spread of the disease across the borders. Other preventative measures including screening and quarantine where necessary are being put in place as a precaution. GBSN and EFMD are closely monitoring the situation on the ground in Ghana in association with our hosts at GIMPA.
The health and safety of our conference participants is our foremost concern and will guide any decision that we make with regard to the event. We have contingency plans for the conference should the situation worsen over the coming weeks, though we are certainly hopeful that this will not be necessary. We will be closely monitoring the situation and will keep you updated.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
