American University in Cairo - Doing Business in the Middle East Program

Posted By Caryn Tin, Wednesday, September 17, 2014

The American University in Cairo has just launched an exciting new program, Doing Business in the Middle East. This program gives graduate students from business schools around the world the opportunity to experience both the corporate and academic perspectives of conducting business in the Middle East. The Middle East is a constantly changing environment, politically and socially, and AUC aims to give students the chance to learn about new opportunities for growth and innovation in the Middle East. In this weeklong program, students will learn about economic growth and development in the Middle East, Islamic finance, multinational enterprises and international businesses, marketing and business strategies in the region, and the corporate legal and financial systems of the Middle East. Students enrolled in the Master of Business Administration, Executive Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Finance, and/or Master of Arts in Economics programs are encouraged to apply.

Students will be immersed in the sights and sounds of AUC’s historic Tahrir Square and Cairo campuses. The School of Business provides a comfortable, positive and efficient environment conducive to the interactive mode of learning that the program offers. The program will also include visits to different institutions in order to supplement the topics discussed in class.

The American University in Cairo was established in 1919 to promote education and community service in Egypt.  The School of Business was founded in 2009 and has been recognized as one of the top business schools in Egypt, the Arab world, and the African continent. The primary language used at AUC is English, allowing the faculty, staff, and students to become more involved in international business and to facilitate communication across the different cultures brought to the university by the diverse group of students. In the spirit of international cooperation, AUC has partnered its executive MBA program with that of the Kellogg School of Management (USA), the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (China), and the Center for Creative Leadership (a global institution). GBSN is proud to have the American University of Cairo as a member school and hopes that students around the world take advantage of this opportunity to learn about business in the Middle East.
