We are excited to welcome the newest member of the GBSN team. Meet Dale Baker, GBSN's new Program Officer!
Dale is responsible for managing GBSN's new partnership with the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (http://www.ifama.org/), as well as enhancing other strategic partnerships, cultivating program opportunities for GBSN to build management education capacity for the developing world, and maintaining current GBSN capacity building programs.
Dale comes to GBSN with a diverse background in both the public and private sectors. He spent the first half of his career in the US Foreign Service with the former US Information Agency, where he served as cultural attache and press attache during five tours in southern Africa and the Balkans. He served in Johannesburg when the ANC was unbanned in 1989, Croatia during its first years of independence and Bosnia just after the civil war there. A growing interest in financial markets later took him into the portfolio management business, working with private clients around the globe. He also worked briefly in international investment promotion before coming back to his first love, international programs and communications.
Dale earned his Bachelors degree in International Relations from Brown University, and a Masters degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He also studied UK and European politics at the University of Kent in Canterbury during his junior year.
Outside the office, he can usually be found cycling the trails in the greater Washington area or watching his hometown Dallas Cowboys. Welcome to the GBSN team Dale!
