Earlier this year, the University of California Berkeley’s Haas School of Business had created Philanthropy University, a global initiative with a goal of providing free online education for people in the nonprofit sector who are looking to improve their efforts in creating change.
Currently in its first phase, Philanthropy University has provided seven courses that cover the fundamentals of managing a nonprofit.

Interested students can earn a certification of completion in Social Sector Leadership from the Haas School of Business when they complete all the courses.
Because the Haas School at UC Berkeley has become the latest business school to join Yale School of Management’s Global Network for Advanced Management, businesses schools within the network, which include GBSN members HEC Paris, Lagos Business School and INSEAD among others, can apply the material to their own credit-bearing courses.
The Haas School is the 28th school to join Gnam, which was founded in 2012.
