Egypt
Egypt's population of approximately 80 million people is among Africa's largest, and industry's share of the economy is one of the highest. Yet the economy is slow-growing and the standard of living remains low. While about 70 percent of adults are literate, women are lagging behind. At the present rate of population growth, the country's population will have doubled in 38 years.
