This online working group is for GBSN Member School staff working with Alumni (from Director to staff level) who would like to connect with like-minded peers from around the world. Members can share their challenges, successes and questions with colleagues from GBSN's international network of business schools. Group members will also have the opportunity to help schools in developing countries that don't have well-established programs and are looking for new ideas.
The Alumni Services Working Group calls are scheduled for the fourth Friday of each month, from 10:00 am- 11:00am (ET - Washington DC time).
Internal partnerships (faculty, student clubs and associations, counselors, etc.) are important to an alumni network for various reasons. One being that it allows for continuous opportunities to further keep the network engaged internally. Graduates join alumni networks to continue to be involved with the university's community. The alumni network connects the two. External partnerships (alumni, professional organizations, international programs, donors, sponsors, etc.) are just as important because it creates networking opportunities, professional experience, mentor programs, volunteerism, etc.
Some questions to think about during the discussion:
What are some internal partnerships that you think are most valuable to cultivate? What internal partnerships are you looking to gain? Why are internal partnerships important? What do these internal partnerships accomplish? What are some external partnerships that you think are most valuable to cultivate? What external partnerships are you looking to gain? Why are external partnerships important? What do these external partnerships accomplish?
