Plan the New Year 2013 Celebrations at New Delhi with ICRICKET organized by IMT Ghaziabad

IMT Ghaziabad India will be organizing ICRICKET -- an International Conference on Rural Innovation, Capacity Building, Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 2nd & 3rd January 2013. The Conference is being organized in collaboration with Centre for Entrepreneurship, Essex Business School, University of Essex, UK. Participation is invited from faculty members and researchers from Exchange Partners of IMT.

ICRICKET will aim at achieving the following objectives:

a) Facilitate sharing of ideas and concepts on the inter-linkages between the research issues related to innovation, knowledge, entrepreneurship and technology

b) Provide a forum for sharing of initiatives taken by eminent innovators, entrepreneurs and practitioners in advancing the practices related to these disciplines

c) Obtain the perspective of the various stakeholders in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems on enhancing the effectiveness of these ecosystems in achieving development objectives through appropriate policy interventions

d) Develop the contours of an action plan to integrate various measures for capacity building and strengthening the inter-linkages in these areas

e) Provide an opportunity to academicians and practitioners in these areas from the international community to network with each other

The tracks of the invited Papers include but are not limited to the following:

· ICT & Rural Development

· Multi-disciplinary Papers covering two or more of the above tracks

Selected Papers will be considered for publication in reputed international journals. Negotiations are in progress with editors of highly rated publications.

The Conference is being organized under the auspices of the research Centre, "CRICKET” at IMT Ghaziabad, established in April 2011 to create windows of opportunities for the faculty and students of IMT Ghaziabad to engage in action research. It is a multi-dimensional research platform spanning the above inter-related themes and aimed at the disadvantaged sections of the society. Over the last one year, a number of action research projects have been initiated, which have engaged several faculty members and students of IMT; and have manifested in the form of collaboration with international research organizations such as CRTI (Centre for Research in Technology and Innovation) of Kellogg School of Management, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Research at Essex Business School, UK, and with prestigious research centres and management institutes in India, such as Indian School of Business and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India.

Besides having dedicated parallel sessions for presentation of papers by the participants, the two-day Conference would have novel features of academic-industry discussions supported by a number of joint panel sessions and addresses by eminent keynote speakers from industry, social enterprises, Government and international development agencies. The Conference will aim at value addition through various forms of interactivity among the participants.

The Conference will provide an excellent opportunity to the Exchange Partners of IMT in showcasing the excellent research work being done by their Faculty and Students and in networking with other universities and business schools across the world. As a token of our professional understanding with each other, IMT will be ready to extend the date of submission of Abstract up to 31^st August 2012.
