About Manila

Makati SkylineMetro Manila is the most populous metropolitan area throughout the Philippines and also ranked the tenth the world, with an estimated population of 20.5 million.

Manila is home to several scientific and educational institutions, numerous sports facilities, as well as a broad range of cultural institutions in the country and other culturally and historically significant places.

Makati is one of 16 cities that comprise Metro Manila. The financial and commercial hub of the capital, it is home to many multinational corporations and corporate offices. The hotel’s central location makes it an ideal base for both business and leisure travel. It is a 30-minute drive from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and the fashionable Greenbelt Lifestyle Complex and Glorietta shopping complexes are just steps away.

Dress Code

The dress code is business casual for the conference. The gala dinner is business professional, cocktail attire. The average daytime temperature is about 87°F, whereas the average minimum temperatures could drop down to 75°F. The winter monsoon, from November to February, brings cooler air, but we strongly recommend to bring light clothes.

Getting Around

The Asian Institute of Management is located within the Makati Central Business District (CBD). It is around 6 kilometers from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The institute occupies one city block along Paseo de Roxas and is just across the Greenbelt 1 shopping arcade. The arcade itself has restaurants, movie houses, shops and a supermarket, which can be seen from the AIM lobby.

Taxi

There are 2 kinds of taxis that pick-up at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the Airport Coupon Taxi  and the Yellow Metered airport taxi. The Airport Coupon taxis (usually white) requires you to pay for the trip at the taxi counter based on your destination. While the Yellow Metered taxis (usually yellow) charges you depending on the distance covered.
