Africa Investment Climate Summit to take place on the eve of the World Bank annual meetings

Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment research and communications group, announced that the annual Africa Investment Climate Summit, held in association with the World Bank Group, will take place on 23 September on the eve of the World Bank annual meetings in Washington D.C.

The high-level investor and policy maker gathering will bring together African Ministers of Finance, Central Bank Governors, private investors, African regulators, development finance institutions, sovereign wealth funds, African pension funds, institutional investors, donors and major project promoters and private equity fund managers.

 

The Africa Investment Climate Summit is a high-level business forum that facilitates action, and highlights and addresses project-specific investment climate challenges.

Commenting on the Summit, Hubert Danso, Managing Director and Vice Chairperson of Africa investor, said: “This Summit will build on the positive momentum built during last year’s successful Summit and will enable public and private sector leaders to discuss a host of investment and private sector development partnership opportunities with the World Bank Group and other participating development finance institutions and African policy makers”.

Africa investor will also host their prestigious African investment ‘Oscars’ on the evening of the Summit. The Africa investor Investment and Business Leader Awards, the longest standing and most respected international awards of their kind, will formally recognise African business leaders, economic policy makers, international investors and development partners pioneering investments and improving Africa’s investment climate.

The Africa Investment Climate Summit partners and sponsors include the World Bank Group; Thomson Reuters; the African Export-Import Bank and the Banking Association of South Africa. The Africa Investment Climate Summit will be held on September 23, 2011 in Washington D.C., USA, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
