Roundtable Discussion at Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women launch in London on Sept 14, 2008

The Management Education & Research Consortium, in partnership with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women initiative, will be hosting a roundtable discussion on the topic "Empowering Women through Business Education" on September 14, 2008.

The Roundtable will bring together business school leaders and entrepreneurship educators from Brazil, China, France, Nigeria, Philippines, and the United Kingdom to discuss best practices in business education for women in developing and emerging economies.

The session will focus on opportunities for improved business education for women, successful business education programs, and lessons learned in business education delivery for women entrepreneurs. Participants will also look at the role of business schools in promoting economic opportunities for women.

The discussion will be held at the Goldman Sachs offices in London, England.

Food for Thought

With very few exceptions, MBA programs in sub-Saharan Africa are unable to effectively compete with institutions in the West. As a result, MBA programs cannot attract the best local students or faculty and often lack the leadership prowess necessary to effectively position themselves within the market.
