This fall the Global Business School Network accepted three new business schools into the network, bringing total membership to 49 leading business schools spanning 24 countries. We welcome ESSEC Business School (France), Nova School of Business & Economics (Portugal) and Kellogg School of Management (USA) and look forward to their engagement in our collective efforts to strengthen management education for the developing world. ESSEC Business School
France
Founded in 1907, ESSEC is an innovation-driven institution that creates value and focuses on the individual. With campuses in France and Singapore, it builds on values of humanism, innovation and diversity. ESSEC has longstanding experience in developing countries, including conducting Executive Education and developing local management programs in countries such as Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Egypt, etc. and exporting a successful entrepreneurship program for women to countries such as Romania and Algeria.
ESSEC is significantly involved in social entrepreneurship through a specialized institute, Institut de l’Innovation et de l’Entrepreneuriat Social de l’ESSEC (IIES), which is involved in the organization of the European final for the Global Social Ventures competition as the regional partner institution, has a Chair in Philanthropy, and develops research, seminars and conferences on “Base of the Pyramid” issues.

First established in 1977, Nova SBE provides an excellent level of higher education and research. They strive to not only produce graduates equipped for the marketplace, but also serve the wider community and advance knowledge. Nova SBE’s has a global presence, with strategic positioning to the Portuguese speaking world.
Since 2010 Nova SBE has been operating a business school in Luanda, Angola Business school, which is devoted to executive education and is working with local private and public administration institutions. The school also has two research centers devoted to African issues – the Center for Global Governance and Knowledge-Africa.

Kellogg School of Mangement has more than 100 years of history and the distinction as a pioneer in international management education. Starting in 1982, Kellogg helped found the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Similarly, Kellogg worked with Wharton in 1997 to help launch the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad. They continue to maintain close relationships with these institutions.
In addition, Kellogg has built a unique network of international EMBA joint degree programs with schools in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and maintains exchange program relationships with 30 leading universities around the world. The school’s commitment to emerging and developing economies is also demonstrated by their Global Initiatives in Management (GIM) Program, which offers classes combining classroom learning and field study in places that have included China, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Egypt, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Russia, Turkey, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana and Zambia.
