The INSEAD Africa Initiative announces the 2 winners of the INSEAD African Faculty Fellowship program 2012.  This fellowship programme was open to 2 Faculty members from African business schools affiliated with the Global Business School Network or with the Association of African Business Schools, with a strong interest in developing their careers in research and teaching to their fullest potential.

Maurice MUTOWO is the Director of the Graduate School of Management at the University of Zimbabwe

On Europe Campus in Fontainebleau

During his visit, Maurice will use his time to learn about best practices for managing a business school, i.e accreditation, the use of case studies, technology and other teaching approaches such as group work, and dissertation supervision. He hopes to explore the possibility for cooperation with INSEAD faculty in writing cases for use in the Graduate School of Management. His research interests are in the broad field of Strategy, specifically the resource-based view of the firm (RBV), capabilities, organizational complexity and strategic innovation

Meshach AZIAKPONO is Professor of Development Finance at the University of Stellenboch Business School in South Africa

On Asia Campus in Singapore

During his visit, Meshach will carry out research that will explore the transmission of financial stress from both advanced and emerging market countries to South Africa using structural VAR and factor-based modelling with new financial stress indicators developed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
