Partnership Opportunity: Establishing an International Business School in Congo Brazzaville PDF Print E-mail

The Government of the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) has requested GBSN to explore interest on the part of leading business schools in setting up a high-quality international business school. GBSN agreed to take the lead in seeking academic partners for the project. This is a project of great potential strategic significance because the Central African region is a major and growing source of key raw materials.

With a population of 120 million, the target Central African states (Angola, Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, DRC, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic and Gabon) lacks an international-standard business school. Brazzaville is adjacent to Kinshasa, a city of 10 million and a major potential market for business education. GBSN proposes a phased multi-year approach, each stage standing alone with discreet time frames, budgets and outcomes. The first 12-24 months stage would include a feasibility study and executive education certificate programs in entrepreneurship and natural resource management.

Food for Thought

“This dearth of management training also hinders micro, small, and midsize businesses. These are the largest source of jobs in most developing countries.”
