A colloquium, titled "Innovation and Africa" will take place on Friday, May 7, from 9 am to 4:30 pm in the Special Events Room of McKeldin Library (Room 6137). Its goal is to offer a venue where members of the Africa-interested community in the greater DC area--from the diplomatic community, funding agencies, international governmental and nongovernmental organizations—can meet with members of the UM campus community who are active in and/or concerned with the countries and regions of Sub-saharan Africa, to explore current priorities in Africa and how UM personnel and units might partner with African peers to best effect.
Up to date details on the day's program (including additional speakers) can be found at the following website: http://www.international.umd.
Please note that the colloquium includes lunch. IF YOU OR COLLEAGUES PLAN TO PARTAKE, PLEASE REGISTER (FREE OF CHARGE) BY THURSDAY, APRIL 22 (campus catering requires considerable lead time...).
