Congratulations to the winner of the MBA+ Challenge Video Contest
The video MamaCarts - Increasing Food Security from a team of business students from Colorado State University College of Business in Fort Collins, Colorado has been selected by our esteemed panel of judges as the winner of the 2013 MBA+ Challenge Video Contest. Their impact project focuses on empowering local communities to increase food security in urban slums. MamaCarts is a for-profit food cart micro franchise that leverages existing supply chains to distribute clean, complete and delicious meals to lower income, marginalized communities.
Coming in 2nd place: GIVEWATTS video produced by a team of business students from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
3rd place: Seeking Change - UNC Kenan-Flagler and the World Around Them video produced by a team from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Investing in Impact - SEI in Nicaragua video produced by a team of business students from Northeastern University D'Amore-McKim Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.
Momtaz Host video produced by a team of business students from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona.

Kiva Fellows Program Gives MBAs a Difference Perspective
Armed with sharp business acumen and a discerning fiscal eye, Muskan Chopra has a background any MBA candidate would envy. But when Chopra graduates from Columbia Business School in May, she’ll have a secret weapon in her arsenal.
Between her first and second years of business school, Muskan spent three months as a Kiva Fellow in Kenya. There, far away from campus and classrooms, she felt her education truly take shape.

nextbillion Case Writing Competition Winner Explores How Microfinance Can Be Sustainable
In October 2012, the IFC lent Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) $100 million to finance small and micro enterprises, including women entrepreneurs.
The financing, which was six times the amount IFC provided to BTPN in 2009, marked a significant milestone for the Indonesian bank. But just a few years earlier, BTPN President Jerry Ng faced the dilemma of how to grow the business and continue its social mission through microfinance.

GBSN Annual Conference to Feature a Keynote Conversation with Patrick Awuah and Mthuli Ncube
The conference, being held in Tunisia June 10-12, will feature a keynote conversation with African leadership education pioneer Patrick Awuah (Ghana) and Chief Economict and Vice President of the African Developent Bank, Mthuli Ncube (Tunisia).
Other features of the conference include a panel and "challenge sessions" on technology in education, and experiential site visits to local Tunisian employers and entrepreneurs.
