WASHINGTON, D.C. – PYXERA Global will join the Global Business School Network and IPM Business School in Minsk to implement the Delivering Regional Instruction Vital to Entrepreneurial Success Belarus (DRIVES) program, funded by USAID.

The goal of the DRIVES program is to expand the private sector across Belarus through improved access to quality entrepreneurship training. The DRIVES Belarus program engages a consortium of international and local implementers to build new, quality business education centers for entrepreneurs throughout Belarus. Faculty from The University of Maryland and Babson College will also participate, along with pro bono advisors from the MBAs Without Borders program.

“There is nothing more empowering than being your own boss. We are honored to be part of a global and local team that is helping emerging businessmen and women  get the training and education they need to jump-start their businesses. It is our hope that these innovators will create new economic opportunities and jobs for their fellow Belarusians, said Harry Pastuszek, PYXERA Global Vice President of Enterprise and Community Development.

DRIVES will establish a network of six Centers of Excellence in Entrepreneurship (CEE) in Minsk, Brest, Grodno, Vitebsk, Mogilev, and Gomel, each equipped with state of the art technology, trained personnel and access to courses taught by experienced business school faculty. The program will also create new courses such as IT Entrepreneurship and Effective Partnering.

GBSN Founder and CEO Guy Pfeffermann said, “I am thrilled that GBSN will help to create state-of-the-art entrepreneurship education centers in Belarus, a country that is experiencing a nascent start-up boom, particularly in IT.” Thanks to reforms carried out in Belarus between 2006 and 2014, the country moved from the 106th to 57th position in the World Bank’s Doing Business ranking.

Pavel Daneyko, IPM Business School General Director, emphasized, “Belarusian entrepreneurs suffer from a shortage of qualitative business education. This project will allow IPM Business School to create a program of appropriate quality for entrepreneurs, as well as make business education more affordable in the regions of Belarus. In turn, this will contribute to the growth of competitiveness of Belarusian enterprises. IPM Business School will also strengthen its leadership position in the sphere of business education in the country.”
