WASHINGTON, DC - The Global Business School Network (GBSN) is happy to announce that the academic co-hosts of the 2013 GBSN Annual Conference Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship will be Babson College and the Mediterranean School of Business (MSB). Scheduled for June 10 – 12 in Tunis, Tunisia, the conference will focus GBSN’s unique position at the intersection of international development and management education on the burgeoning concern of career and business opportunity for young people in the developing world.
"I could not be more thrilled with the partners that we are working with for this conference, which marks GBSN’s 10th Anniversary,” said Guy Pfeffermann, CEO of GBSN. "On one hand we have Babson College, a global leader in preparing young entrepreneurs for the challenges of starting and growing successful businesses. On the other hand the Mediterranean School of Business has been at the forefront of modern, internationalized management education in a rapidly evolving region where youth unemployment and lack of entrepreneurship opportunity have quite literally sparked revolution. I am eagerly looking forward to working with this team to develop a conference that addresses how business schools can build the capacity necessary to educate the great wave of young, ambitious talent rising in the developing world.”
As academic co-hosts Babson and MSB will play an integral role in the program development, logistical planning and execution of the GBSN conference. In addition, MSB will host the annual GBSN Members Meeting on their campus.
"Babson is proud to partner with MSB and GBSN on this event to advance the criticality and application of Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®,” said Dennis Hanno, Dean, F.W.Olin Graduate School of Business and Vice Provost, Babson College. "MSB is shaping the future of the MENA region and the conference will advance their important work.”
About the Conference
The Global Business School Network Annual Conference is a premier forum for management educators, development professionals and industry leaders to network, share best practice and develop new ideas around their shared interest in building management education capacity for the developing world. The conference features a unique networking environment organized around speakers and interactive discussions that delve into international business school trends, innovations, challenges and opportunities.
Previous conferences have been held in India, Mexico, the United States, South Africa, Kenya and France and have resulted in student exchanges, institutional partnerships, mentoring relationships, academic-industry collaborations, capacity-building initiatives and the establishment of a new business school association in Africa. According to a recent GBSN conference participant, "It was good to meet with other like-minded individuals. As much as other business school and/or international program conferences have interesting speakers and sessions, they are often too far removed from my work to really help me grow and develop new ideas.”
Conference registration and program details will be available in early 2013. For information on GBSN’s most recent conference in Delhi, India, please visit www.gbsnonline.org/2012.
