Case Mentors needed! GBSN is looking for two case mentors to support case writing faculty at USIU in Nairobi, Kenya. USIU has received a grant for the development of a new agribusiness certificate program targeting local entrepreneurs and will be developing local case studies to accompany each of 12 course modules.

Case mentors would need to travel to Nairobi for a workshop and provide mentoring support via telephone and email. Terms of Reference for this consultancy is available upon request. This JBV Special Issue seeks to provide a robust analysis of entrepreneurship and the mitigation and possible alleviation of desperate poverty that can flow from successful entrepreneurial practices. We define entrepreneurship and its solutions in the broadest sense of the words in hopes of generating new insights on entrepreneurship and the desperately poor. All else being equal, we encourage teams that include authors from settings of desperate poverty and/or that span disciplines to encourage diversity of thinking to create the path breaking insights that we seek. Deadline: November 15, 2011.

As India works to create global awareness of opportunities in the county’s successes and challenges, through the INDIA Future of Change Initiative, a panel-led discussion on “Unlocking Business Possibilities: Lessons from Nigeria-India partnership” was hosted by Lagos Business School on Wednesday.

Officiated by the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Mahesh Sachdev, who disclosed India’s position as Nigeria’s second largest trading partner and largest investor, the discussion focused on the existing relationship between both countries and the limitless possibilities that a partnership could hold.

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is searching for outstanding social entrepreneurs in African countries where we do not currently have national competitions.  We are looking for social entrepreneurs who are innovators implementing practical and sustainable solutions on the ground to address problems in a wide variety of areas, including – but not limited to – health, education, environment, financial inclusion and enterprise development.
