Dr. Javier Santomá is Professor in the Financial Management Department. His areas of specialization include portfolio management, company finance, insurance and finance for new companies. Dr. Santomá has a Ph.D. in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Master en Economía y Dirección de Empresas from IESE, Universidad de Navarra, a Licenciado en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and a Licenciado en Derecho from Universidad de Barcelona.

Food for Thought

A nascent private sector, far too few qualified faculty members, marginal primary and secondary preparation, and historical ambivalence - or even antagonism - between higher education and the private sector all serve to exacerbate the legacy of insufficient financial investment in graduate management education activities.
