Lord Griffiths of Fforestfach was educated at London School of
Economics (LSE). He taught at LSE from 1965-76 and was Professor of
Banking and International Finance at City University in 1976. He held
the position of Dean of the University’s Business School from 1982-85,
was a Director of the Bank of England from 1983-85, served as Head of
Prime Minister’s Policy Unit from 1985-90 and was the special advisor
to the Prime Minister for Domestic Policy Making. He was made a life
peer on leaving 10 Downing Street.
Lord Griffiths has been Vice-Chair of Goldman Sachs International and
an International Advisor to the company on its development activities
worldwide. He was Chairman of the School Examination Assessment
Council and of the Centre for Policy Studies. He is Chairman of Land
Securities Trillium and a Non-Executive Director of Times Newspaper
Holdings Ltd. He is also Chairman of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s
Lambeth trust and of Christian Responsibility in Public Life. Lord
Griffiths is a member of the Board of Reference for TBN and a former board member of GBSN. He has written
extensively and lectured on ethics and business. |
