He is currently a PhD research student at the University of Navarra, Spain, specialising in Governance and Culture of Institutions. Until the beginning of this year he was the Dean of Strathmore Business School, an initiative he has helped establish, to offer executive management education. He is a member of the board of the Association of African Business Schools. He continues to be a senior lecturer at the Strathmore University and a Member of the board of the Havard Virtue Leadership Institute.

Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Njenga served as Strathmore's Director of the School of Accountancy and Distance Learning Centre of Strathmore University. He was responsible for the School's faculty, function and development of courses preparing students for their CPA examinations. Prior to this position, he served as Director of Personnel and Administration at Strathmore. He began his career at Strathmore as Registrar of Finance, in which he enhanced the school's financial controls, improved financial reporting procedures, and assisted in implementing the University's computerization of accounts.

Before entering the education sector, Mr. Njenga served in the private sector as Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young in Nairobi. In this position he performed audits, investigations, and management analysis for client accounts and management systems. He served on a select team within the firm to investigate the local operations of Bank of Credit and Commerce International, a major international bankruptcy case. He also acted as receiver on the firm's behalf of Golden Beach Hotel in a significant local insolvency case.

In addition to his professional duties, Mr. Njenga is a Director and founder of Pacis Insurance Company plc, with various board responsibilities in audit and corporate governance, finance and human resources policies. At Strathmore he also lectures on the subject of ethics and management and serves as a career and personal mentor to many students.

Mr. Njenga received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (magna cum laude) and his Masters of Business Administration degree in Strategic Management from the United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya. Mr. Njenga received his CPA training at Strathmore College, predecessor to Strathmore University. He has also attended executive education courses in Harvard, GIBS and IESE and Lagos business schools. He serves in various other boards such as the AIESEC.
